Here's a helpful productivity tip from Vaughan Rivett. It's actually a video tip. Vaughan has created a series of videos to help users get the most from Lotus Notes. Here's a link to his latest post on Keyboard Shortcuts in Lotus Notes 8.
In addition to using the standard keyboard shortcuts, Many of my clients use ActiveWords which integrates very nicely with eProductivity and IBM Lotus Notes. The neat thing about ActiveWords and the integration with Notes is that you can connect to Notes functionality no matter where you are - Notes does not even have to be running!

I wonder why it is still called a "memo" and not "email".

as of Notes 8, we renamed "memo" to "message" but since caughn is a long-time Notes user, he accidentally used the wrong word. :)

Why bother with YouTube?
Ctrl + M = New Email
Ctrl + Shift + L = All shortcuts
Done.

Hi, I'm looking for an option to create a short cut in Notes 8.5 to apply a certain language to a selected text in a mail.
Would that be possible?
Thanks Martin

Hi,
I'm wondering the same thing as Martin!
Is it possible to set up additional keyboard shortcuts? I get so frustrated when editing a table and I have to right click >> insert new row so frequently.
I can think of a ton of other actions that I'd love to create a keyboard shortcut for!
Thanks!

I was developing in Notes 8.5.1 and testing a rather compicated application that had a tendency to hang Notes. After a few crashes, I found that my keyboard shortcuts started failing. Is there a way I can reset them? I've lost Crtl+Shft+F9 so I can't refresh all my views, and when coding Lotusscript, the 'Delete' key dosen't work. Plus, Ctrl+Shift+L is gone, so I can't see the other mappings.
Any ideas would be welcome.
Cheers.
